New Requirements for Maine NECS Patients who travel to Massachusetts

December 10, 2020 · Travel for medical appointments no longer exempt from testing/quarantine

Maine rules change for patients who travel to Massachusetts

When Maine Governor Janet Mills removed Massachusetts from the list of states exempt from quarantine requirements after travel, the rules for patients who have traveled there for medical appointments also changed.

What does this mean for our NECS patients in Maine?

If you have been to Massachusetts for any reason, including for a medical appointment, you must quarantine for 10 days upon your return to Maine, or be tested for COVID-19.

What should I do if I am going to a medical appointment in Massachusetts?

We recommend that before you go to Massachusetts, you schedule a test for when you return to Maine. This will help to avoid any delay in your care at New England Cancer Specialists. We will ask that you bring proof of your negative COVID-19 test with you to your next appointment with us.

It is important that we honor these requirements from the State of Maine to keep patients and staff as safe as we can. If you have any questions, please speak to your care team.
