Our Survivorship Clinic is here to support patients who have completed their cancer care regimen—specifically at NECS—in their journey toward a fulfilling life, post-cancer treatment. Once you’ve completed your treatments and begin your new life as a cancer survivor, you can look forward to receiving the ongoing support of a collaborative team that will help you manage the physical and emotional changes that may arise after undergoing treatments such as Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Hormone Therapy, Radiation, and Surgery. Your visits with the Survivorship team will be tailored to your specific needs and may involve:
- Thoroughly reviewing your cancer diagnosis and treatment history.
- Evaluating the potential for cancer recurrence or the development of other types of cancers, based on the most current surveillance guidelines. If necessary, we will connect you with cancer screening services and ongoing care.
- Conducting comprehensive physical examinations to ensure your well-being.
- Providing clarity about your diagnosis, treatment, and potential long-term complications that may arise.
- Collaborating with a diverse team of experts to address physical, emotional, and social effects stemming from your cancer journey.
- Assessing various lifestyle factors and suggesting improvements to your well-being through personalized recommendations in areas like nutrition, exercise, weight management, and mindfulness techniques. We can also connect you with skilled professionals such as dietitians, physical therapists, and integrative medicine specialists.
- Engaging with your Medical Oncology team at New England Cancer Specialists—whenever consultation is required.
