Dr. Devon Evans grew up in rural Massachusetts and went to Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He did his Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, and his Fellowship at Brown University Medical Center in Rhode Island. He explored other areas of the country through ‘locum tenens’ positions in Martha’s Vineyard, Gresham, OR and Kealakekua, HI before coming to New England Cancer Specialists in 2007.

Dr. Evans is board certified in hematology and oncology, with interests in lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, and brain tumors. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Society for NeuroOncology, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He states “I became an oncologist with the hope of providing comfort and strength to those made vulnerable by a challenging disease. I am amazed every day by my patients as they fight to live their lives in spite of their cancer, and refuse to let it define them. Their courage remains my inspiration.”

Dr. Evans lives in Cape Elizabeth with his wife and three daughters. His outside interests center on enjoying the wonderful outdoor attractions of Maine with his family:  skiing in the winter, and running, swimming and boating during the summer.

After her undergraduate degree at the University of Tokyo, Dr. Fukuda completed her medical education at some of the finest institutions in Japan and the U.S. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology, and has received several “best in class” awards during her residencies and for her research. Dr. Fukuda has participated in numerous research studies, has published several works, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Prior to joining New England Cancer Specialists, she practiced at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, and Portsmouth Hematology & Oncology.

Dr. Fukuda is fluent in English and her native Japanese, and speaks conversational French, German, and Spanish. She enjoys traveling, skiing, and playing the piano and violin.

Lauren (Girard) Zanetti received a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University, and earned a Master of Science in Medical Science/Physician Assistant from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.

Before joining the Portsmouth team, Lauren worked as a Physician Assistant and Electronic Health Record Officer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where she received multiple awards in the Division of Cancer Medicine and in GI Medical Oncology. She previously worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

Lauren is proud to provide compassionate and evidence-based care to patients in the Seacoast area.

Lauren lives on the Seacoast with her husband, two young children, and goldendoodle. She enjoys spending time at the beach and exploring the local restaurant scene.

Maureen Habif was born and raised in northern Vermont. Trading the mountains for the ocean, she moved to New Hampshire, where she received a BS in Biology at the University of New Hampshire. After graduation, she spent several years working in the biotech industry.

Following her passion for medicine, she received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She worked for several years as an urgent care physician assistant and most recently as an infectious disease physician assistant in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Maureen is excited to continue providing patient-centered care as part of New England Cancer Specialists’ Portsmouth team.

Outside of work, Maureen enjoys spending time with family on Ossipee Lake, returning to the mountains, fly fishing, skiing, travel and catching up on reality tv shows.

Dr. Jonathan Proulx grew up in Western Massachusetts and attended Western New England University. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, he taught high school chemistry before attending medical school at St. George's University. He went on to complete his residency at the Jefferson University affiliate in Morristown, NJ where he received a graduate certificate in Medical Humanities and the A. Lester Granet Humanitarian Award for the Atlantic Health System. Dr. Proulx completed his fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Baystate medical campus in Springfield, MA.

Dr. Proulx recently relocated to New Hampshire with his wife. He enjoys exploring the many restaurants as well as hiking and biking trails that the seacoast region has to offer.

Dr. Dennis is passionate about improving the lives of her patients. She leads two clinical programs at NECS: a high-risk program that focuses on early detection and risk reduction, and our survivorship program for patients who have moved past their cancer treatment and are focusing on their long-term health and any lifestyle adjustments that may be needed.

Dr. Dennis completed her medical education at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Illinois, followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, which is affiliated with Columbia University in upstate New York. She most recently served as the director of an adult cancer survivorship program before joining NECS.

Dr. Dennis is married with two sons and two dachshunds. Away from the office, you're likely to find her outdoors, traveling, or indulging in her passion for ballroom dancing.
