After her undergraduate degree at the University of Tokyo, Dr. Fukuda completed her medical education at some of the finest institutions in Japan and the U.S. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology, and has received several “best in class” awards during her residencies and for her research. Dr. Fukuda has participated in numerous research studies, has published several works, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Prior to joining New England Cancer Specialists, she practiced at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, and Portsmouth Hematology & Oncology.
Dr. Fukuda is fluent in English and her native Japanese, and speaks conversational French, German, and Spanish. She enjoys traveling, skiing, and playing the piano and violin.

Karen Kadish NP

A Massachusetts native, Karen received her BA from Bowdoin College and Masters of Science in Nursing from MGH Institute of Health Professions. After working as a registered nurse on the hematology/oncology floor at Lahey Hospital, she fell in love with the specialty, and stayed in the field when she went on to become a nurse practitioner. Before joining NECS in 2021, she worked for 11 years in malignant hematology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
She recently moved from Boston to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and resides in Laconia with her husband and “pandemic puppy” Molly. She enjoys hiking, wake surfing, snowboarding, watching football and Formula 1 racing, and traveling.

Lauren Zanetti PA-C, MMSc

Lauren (Girard) Zanetti received a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University, and earned a Master of Science in Medical Science/Physician Assistant from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.
Before joining the Portsmouth team, Lauren worked as a Physician Assistant and Electronic Health Record Officer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, where she received multiple awards in the Division of Cancer Medicine and in GI Medical Oncology. She previously worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Lauren looks forward to providing compassionate and evidence-based care to patients in the Seacoast area.

Maureen Habif PA-C

Maureen Habif was born and raised in northern Vermont. Trading the mountains for the ocean, she moved to New Hampshire, where she received a BS in Biology at the University of New Hampshire. After graduation, she spent several years working in the biotech industry.
Following her passion for medicine, she received a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She worked for several years as an urgent care physician assistant and most recently as an infectious disease physician assistant in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Maureen is excited to continue providing patient-centered care as part of New England Cancer Specialists’ Portsmouth team.
Outside of work, Maureen enjoys spending time with family on Ossipee Lake, returning to the mountains, fly fishing, skiing, travel and catching up on reality tv shows.
