Easing Pain and Discomfort, Part 1

Join us for the first fall session as part of our Survivorship And Beyond series.

Easing Pain and Discomfort, Part 1

Cancer and its treatment bring many forms of pain and discomfort into your life. In this first workshop, we will have a panel of experts representing meditation, hypnosis, and reiki. This panel will focus on mind-body interventions that can soothe distress. The panelists are eager to answer your questions and to offer a live demonstration of each technique. No prior experience with any of the modalities is necessary to benefit from this session.

Scarborough sessions will be held at 100 Campus Drive

Facilitators:

Sarah Spiegel Dunn

When Sarah took her first yoga class in 2009, she was inspired by the freedom and dance-like quality she was able to find on the mat; in 2012 she was hit by a car while crossing the street, and then the real practice began. Her asana practice put on hold, her focus shifted to mindfulness, meditation, and the philosophical teachings of the yoga practice, which she now infuses into her asana and mindfulness classes. Meditation became a major part of her healing journey. Sarah particularly loves the process of guiding students on an inner journey and into deep states of relaxation. She is a certified SPA Yoga® teacher and assists SPA Yoga® founder Betty Riaz with trainings both regionally and internationally. She has also studied and holds certifications in Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lassiter, Thai Yoga Massage, and Yin Yoga and Meditation.
