Arlene is a Waterville, Maine native and received her BSN from Saint Joseph’s College. She began her nursing career as an RN at Mercy hospital, then moved into home hospice care in the early 1990’s. She helped develop the Outpatient Oncology Unit at Mercy Hospital, and completed the Nurse Practitioner program at Simmons College in 2000. In the years that followed, she worked with veterans at Togus VA Hospital, spent many years in GYN oncology, taught at the University of New England, and spent a few years in Bone Marrow transplant at Tufts Medical Center. She has developed Cancer Survivorship Programs for patients who have completed therapy. She is committed and dedicated to the cancer patient and families, working towards improved quality of life and wellbeing. Her interests include integrative oncology care and lifestyle choices to improve patient outcomes. She joined New England Cancer Specialists in 2012 excited to work back in her community.
She has lived in Portland with her husband for 26 years and has 2 daughters. She enjoys hiking with her family and spending time with her dog Daisy.
