Dr. Hedlund grew up in Connecticut, attended Smith College in Western Massachusetts, received a Masters in Public Health from Harvard and received her M.D. from University of Vermont College of Medicine.  She left New England to complete Fellowship in Hematology at the University of Washington in Seattle, and Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at the Puget Sound Blood Center.  She returned to New England to serve as Medical Director at Coral Therapeutics before joining New England Cancer Specialists in 1998, where her practice focuses on Hematologic disorders, both malignant and benign.

Dr. Hedlund served as Medical Director of the Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute for five years, and as the Clinical Medical Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Maine Medical Center for four years – all while maintaining practice at New England Cancer Specialists.  She is also an Instructor for the University of Vermont, College of Medicine. She is a member of ASCO, ASH, ASA, ISHT, the American Association of Blood Banks and the American College of Physicians.

Jacquelyn Hedlund lives with her family in Cape Elizabeth. Her two high school boys keep her very busy with sports and travel is her passion. She loves to cook and entertain and is a Red Sox fanatic. She enjoys spending time at a family home on Martha’s Vineyard and for her there is no place better than Fenway Park on a hot Sunday afternoon.
