Today, geography is no longer a constraint on innovation or expertise in fighting cancer. Right here at NECS, we have our own research department led by Dr. Christian Thomas, and collaborate with leading cancer researchers and treatment specialists across the nation and beyond. New England Cancer Specialists has a clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center (Tufts MC) that greatly expands patients’ access to advanced cancer care, innovative clinical trials, and survivorship resources.
Tufts MC is a leader in cancer treatment in Boston, with a deep history of innovation and a specialization in complex cancer treatments. Together, we offer the following advanced services:
We are also proud to partner with Tufts in Cancer Breakthroughs 2020, a collaborative nationwide initiative to accelerate the potential of immunotherapy for cancer care.
The CancerBreakthroughs 2020 initiative was launched in January, 2016 at a conference convened by Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong with Vice President Biden and a multidisciplinary group of health care experts. Andrew Evens, DO, MS, FACP, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Tufts Cancer Center attended, and Dr. Soon-Shiong helped facilitate the collaboration between Tufts Medical Center and NECS.
